What are puking pastilles?
Puking pastilles are candies made by Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter series. They are designed to get you out of class–you eat the candy and you begin barfing uncontrollably. Once you get out of class you eat an additional candy and you stop puking. Other products in their line of “Weasley’s Wizarding Wheezes” are Noseblood Nougat and Fever Fudge.
How do you pronounce “pastilles”?
There are several ways to pronounce “pastilles” depending on where you live. Even though I am American, I prefer the British pronunciation — pass tuhls –with the emphasis on the first syllable. Ginny Weasley says it very clearly in the movie “Order of the Phoenix.”
That was my favorite part in my favorite book of the series! …and I was so disappointed when Fred and George’s activities were downplayed in the movie…

me too! They could have done so much with it!
It’s frustrating that there is not an easy way to look at all of your posts. After clicking around for a few minutes I could only find the “recent posts” and I really doubt there are only 5 posts on this blog. Changing it so people can look at the archive easier would be something to think about.
Hi Ciara! You’re right! I took off the archives because they took up SO MUCH space on my sidebar, but I put it back in a much smaller version. Thanks for the suggestion.
You can imagine what I’ve been thinking about the title of your blog! Thanks for the explanation – now it makes so much sense! Wish there really was such a thing!
Fred and George are my favorite characters. I love redheads.
I love Fred and George! I’m glad there are other crafty blogs out there whose names are references to Harry Potter.
