I woke up this morning hoping we had dreamed last night’s election fiasco. It is a hard fact to face that a special interest group (in this case, the REALTOR Association) can buy a Council and a Mayor’s seat. I am proud of my honey for working day and night to fight a good, honest fight against a nasty, lying smear campaign. We fought hard to keep the best Councilperson Provo has seen in a long time. She made our park a reality!
Thank you, Cindy!
We also dropped by Steve Clark’s campaign party, whose race was also lost to the developer/Realtor clan. A bright spot and highlight of the night for me was getting to meet Nie Nie. She is even more beautiful and amazing in person. Eli was a big hit and was right at home with all of the grandkids running around. It was more of a family party than a campaign watch party, which was nice for us to experience.
But then Joseph came in our room this morning and puked on the floor. A rude awakening to the reality of today.
Yea for the new park in Provo and bummer about Cindy and Steve we were definitely voting for both of them. Hope the yucky tummies don’t get passed around.
I’m soooo sad for the loss:( But more, because of the way it went. It is sad to see politics are awfull everywhere in the world. Anyway, I think it was a great expirience for Dave. Something good will come of all this. And George I am envious of your good fortune of meeting one of my favorite blog “people”, but soooo happy you did.
I am quite jealous that you met Nienie too! She is among my favorite bloggers!
