I’ve been holding my breath since this post hoping that the Sunshine Kids Radian 65 and the other boosters I had picked out would actually fit in our third row bench. This isn’t the first time we’ve had to fit three car seats across, but the van bench is considerably smaller than the backseat of our four-door little Kia. Surprised? I certainly was. It turns out van manufacturers don’t expect people to actually use all the seats (especially with car seats).
I think I got a little off topic there. . . What I was trying to get at was that our Radian 65 arrived in the mail this week and we already had the boosters purchased (Graco Turboboosters for anyone who is interested in performing such a feat) and my calculations proved successful!
Here are the three new seats in our backseat (49 inches across):

It is a little squirrelly getting the boosters buckled, but not impossible. Plus, these boosters are like the Harley Davidson of booster seats. I feel much better about the kids riding in them than their old ones.
Here’s a shot of all five spots filled up:

The infant seat (with its fabulous new cover) will go where the black one is in the middle row. No need for it now, so we haven’t installed it yet.
I, personally, heaved a huge sigh of relief when everything fit as planned. Whew! Now I can worry about other stuff like world hunger.
Also, as expected, the boxes were the best part of these purchases.
