I LOVE the olympics. I’m normally not much of a sports person, but the olympics just do it for me. We are big Apolo Ohno fans, so the short track racing has been on a lot over here. Catherine saw a few quarterfinals, came back in during the semifinals and said, “Oh. I already saw this one.” Haha, they all look the same to her.
Back in 2002 you might remember that the Olympics were here in Utah. Good ol Salt Lake City – although most of the events were not in SLC. . . (things that make you go “hmmm.”) We didn’t manage to get to any events (we were poor and I was just getting over the puking phase of Catherine’s pregnancy) BUT do not feel sorry for me.
Because.
We got to hold the flippin torch.

Now the funny part of this photo is that everyone else at this particular torch event had pictures done with the girl who was walking around with it. We didn’t (in fact, I think she’s taking the picture). It turns out, she wasn’t just some volunteer walking around giving people photo ops with the torch, she was the torch bearer. Whoops. She was Miss Utah or something. Anyhoo, here we are with the torch (right across the street from our apartment).
So enjoy the olympics and if you’re in Vancouver, take some advice and buy a butt-load of olympic pins and sell them on eBay. That’s how my love/hate relationship with online business started. Good times.
