Can you tell school is back in session? By the fact that I’ve been silent. . .for . . .oh let’s see . . . . .
forever?
Ok, not that long. I haven’t quite figured out how to cram everything into one day. Less sleep isn’t an option (although, I admit I’ve tried. . .but then I usually wake up to the kids feeding themselves Ho Ho’s and chips for breakfast).
I’m especially grateful for my little family this week (okay, okay, not so little. . .geez). Sometimes I think that I’m somehow cheating by getting to spend so much time with my kids. And then there are those moments when I run screaming from the house, arms flailing, driving away in a cloud of dust (or is that a disgusting mix of salt and icemelt?) hoping to find a quiet moment inside my own head.
Although I was really needing a break from school, I was glad to start up again. I always have a difficult time after Christmas is over, especially here in Utah because there are still at least three (usually four) more months of snow and I find it incredibly depressing. So, I welcomed the diversion of “Back to School Again” week. Plus, Catherine is learning all about homophones which is a grammatical error I find most disturbing in adult correspondence. So yay, I get to impose my grammar elitism on my child. Hooray!
***That being said, don’t look too closely around here. I use far too many commas in all the wrong places. I reserve the right to judge others’ grammar, but no one can judge mine. Am I making sense? Good.
