Yay!!! I won! Sort of! I came in 4th in the Sew, Mama, Sew! Scrap Buster Contest, which means I just barely missed out on the $50 gift certificate of fabric goodness, BUT I won a free yard of fabric. As my Poppi always says, Better than a kick in the pants! Way better:) Considering there were more than 100 entries, I’m totally excited. Thanks to everyone who voted for me – my fabric stash thanks you. Since 3 of the 5 winners were quilt tutorials, I’m off to make a quilt pattern:) There’s nothing like free market research.
Now on to the fun stuff. Today we are having an assortment of fabulous spooky treats and foods. Yesterday we had Salty Bones to go along with our tradition of Dinner in a Pumpkin. Basically you make a meaty mix of veggies and pasta and put it in inside a warm pumpkin. Food always tastes better when it comes in a cool container.
Today we will be having Monster Toes, and a drink I’m going to make up on the spot with seltzer water, green Kool-Aid, and peeled grapes (eye balls. yum).
Photos to follow I hope. I didn’t get a chance to take pictures of the Salty Bones because they devoured them as soon as I set them on the table. Joseph was a bit skeptical because he thought they were Tyrannosaurus Rex bones. I offered him one and he said, “. . . . .No, you can have it.” Hah! He came around when he realized they were bread sticks
And as promised, shots of Padme and Anakin:

They’re pretending to fight Boba Fett who is off camera because he decided his feet were too cold. Seriously, it snowed yesterday. These kids are nutty.

Here are links to the photos I used as a guide for their costumes: Padme and Anakin Skywalker. I really outdid myself on this one. I must be an insane person. I’ll take more photos of what is underneath his Jedi cape later.

As I was making his cape, I realized it looked a whole lot like a Monk’s robe. Totally missed that archetype until now. Yes, you may laugh at me.
