Anyone interested? I pay with love and patterns.

I’ve been meaning to recover our baby swing cover for a while so I could add a photo to my car seat recovering tutorial listing (since the same principles apply to swing covers, too) on Etsy, but just barely got around to it.

Here is the before cover:

Seriously ugly. It was ugly when we bought it and it’s still ugly. For the love of everything that is holy, please explain to me what in the world a cat with a binky and baby bonnet is doing on that fabric?? And the ruffle. Oh, the ruffle. It is wrong, I tell you. Just plain wrong.

So, here is what it looks like now that I saved it from 7 years of fashion faux pas:

Bias tape, I love you.

I have become acutely aware that there are sticky handprints on everything I own, including all parts of the house. Everywhere. Doors, walls, windows, mirrors, couch, chairs, sewing machine, beadspread, computers, floors, fridge, dresser, camera, phones. I even found a chocolate smear on the baby’s head the other day. So not kidding.

Since I can’t indulge myself with food for the time-being (for some reason my body thinks it needs to be 160 lbs before I give birth. That might not sound that bad to some of you, but let’s please remember that I am a lofty 5’1″), I’d like to share a little of this sweetness:

Life beyond pattern-making has been good. Homeschool is going well, but I still need a whip, or maybe one of those paddles with the holes in it so it has less wind resistance. I have to ask at least four times to get them to do anything. However, that isn’t specific to school. . .

How about you, lovely readers? I want to know how your lives are going. Bad? Sad? Exceptional? Fabulous?

Any suggestions on motivating the kidlets? I’ve already tried stickers and candy and they both lasted about a week. Strange, really. My cub scouts will do anything for a starburst.
