I have been entirely awful about blogging lately. I’ve been even worse about getting out my fantastically amazing camera and putting it to good use. Well wait no more, gentle readers, because I finally DID something today!
Not only did I take photos, I uploaded them AND put some on flickr. *applause*
My first item of business is showing off this great little kimono top (actually called the Easy Empire Waist Dress as someone so kindly pointed out to me on Flickr) from Amy Butler’s Little Stitches for Little Ones that my awesome sister bought for me.

Juliet didn’t want her photo taken as you can tell. She’s telling me off. You can barely see, but I made her matching pants from my Ankle Biters Sewing Pattern to match the dress. I was worried because the clothing patterns in the book only go up to a 9-12 months size (I guess a “Little One” to Amy Butler is 12 months or younger), but I luckily have genetically shrimpy kids and Juliet fits just fine into the largest size. Although I did forget to accommodate for head size. It *barely* fits.
Next up: Spring is finally coming! How do I know, you ask? The tulips finally started to emerge in my disgustingly filthy flower beds:

I even found two dead birds being slowly lifted to heaven by some tulip leaves. Beautiful. Don’t worry, they were Starlings. It’s even legal to shoot them down in public around here, so I’m not worried about my cat cutting down on their population. Our friendly woodpecker is back, which always makes me happy. He likes the utility pole in our back yard; it must have lots of yummy bugs in it. I’m not sure how I feel about that because if it ever fell over, it would destroy my kitchen.
I tried to get a good shot of Joseph today, but alas:

That’s all I could get.

This toy has been around since the beginning of time pretty much. I think my grandmother bought it for Catherine for one of her first Christmases. EVERY child has loved it pretty much to death. It has even been left out in the sprinklers and somehow resurrected itself. It is loud and totally random (I think the voice talent was a Japanese person), but they have all adored it. And so I keep it around.
Peace to your mother.
