unfortenetly i never saw these books here in israel but i just finished reading the forth book of dune- which i feel the same about. now i need to get the fifth book- just have to!

Totally agree. I just stared into space for at least a half hour after finishing the third book…not sure what I expected, but I guess not quite that empty. I decided to re-read the book and decide if I really just didn’t like it, or if it was because it was not what I was expecting. Of course it is taking a lot longer to read this time (finished the first time in half a day) but I think that it is growing on me Just not excited to re-live all the deaths. (the last of the tributes to die in this book was the worst for me – trying not to spoil it for those yet to read the books)

I did the exact same thing except I had to wait a year for the 2nd and 3rd books to be written which some how makes it worse. I’m still feeling deep deep sadness over the final book. I think it was well written, and shows the ugly reality of war but I don’t know if I’ll ever recover. The characters became very real to me and I feel like I’ve lost what Katniss lost. So sad. I don’t even know if I liked it, I’m still in mourning over characters.

BTW, love your sight.

Hi Georgia, I went on the same rollercoaster ride as you. I LOVED the first book, the second started to break my heart a little and the third completely broke my heart. I agree with you, it is the genre, but OUCH. I think she is a great writter and I would read more of her books. I haven’t devourved a series so ferociously in a long time.
