Books and Gifts

WARNING: Christmas spoiler for MF’s and Ady’s family within!!

Just gotta be careful, ya know?

I took Catherine to the book fair today. It was MUCH smaller than I remember. Hee. I must have grown or something. They still have Mad Libs!! And posters! They even have a whole section of Spanish books now. So I got the kids the sequel to Click, Clack, Moo in Spanish (Jijí, Jajá, Cuac). Catherine picked out a book (she’s reading it below) and I got Seth a Spiderman comic book for the gazillion-hour car ride to Texas this weekend.

We checked out Batman comic books (big thick real books) at the library this summer and he would spend hours pouring over the pages. He still pretends that he’s Bat-Mite sometimes. Only someone who has read Batman comics would know who that is–so very random!

I am finally wrapping up Christmas presents (no pun in 10 did….*snicker*) for certain family members who live bajillions of miles away but who we will see next week for Thanksgiving. We had to do some lamination for one gift and the kids really enjoyed watching the machine even though it was as slow as molasses.

I had planned on making two of these, but only ended up making one:

The infamous reusable grocery sack (tutorial here)!! I love these!

I’m off to bed; we have lots of fun things to do tomorrow in preparation for “The Car Ride From Hell To Texas.”

Holiday Fun

I received my order of fabric in the mail today!  I got a gift certificate to Sew, Mama, Sew for my birthday.  Yippee!  I’ve already started Christmas gifts and this is for more. I just hope it all turns out the way I want it too, otherwise I’ll be buying a whole bunch of gifts last minute. Hee.  There’s some Amy Butler, Heather Ross, and Alexander Henry in there.  I’m very excited to cut into it.  If only I could have gotten an extra hour in each day as a birthday present…

Because I’m Random
Oct 25th, 2007 by Jorja

We painted our pumpkins this week. I’m not a big fan of carving because: a) I suck at it, b) it’s messy, and c) they rot faster. I don’t really like to do things that I suck at. Although, I did play the organ at church for a year even though I am sooo not an organist. I’m not even a pianist, really. I can play the piano, but I wouldn’t neccessarily say I’m a pianist. Because, apparently, I’m neurotic.

Oh, and Seth had to wear the girly smock because Catherine called dibs on the unisex one first. Such is life for poor Seth. Luckily he likes pink.

Juliet is finally big enough to use our walker. I wouldn’t really call it a walker, per se, because it doesn’t go anywhere. It has three legs, one of which is stationery, so it goes in circles. Poor Juliet doesn’t get a whole lot of chances to walk in it of her own volition, however:

I like that Joseph decided to catch a ride, too.
